The Hamilton National Fellowship (HNF) provides grants to students and recent graduates with summer internships in Washington, D.C., in the fields of human rights, foreign affairs, national defense, and economic policy. As part of the fellowship, students are required to participate in eight evening seminars each Monday from June 1 to July 20 on American Grand Strategy, take part in a staff ride to a historic battlefield, and attend briefings with distinguished practitioners on career opportunities in foreign policy and national security. Each student receives a $3,000 grant made possible through the visionary leadership and steadfast support of Board Member Emeritus Laurence Zuriff.

Each summer, one exceptional student will be named the Laurence Zuriff Summer Fellow, recognizing the participant who most fully embodies the values of AHS and reflects the vision, integrity, and leadership that characterize Laurence Zuriff’s enduring impact on the organization.

Applications for summer 2026 are now closed. You do not have the have your summer internship confirmed in order to apply, but your internship must be secured by the time your fellowship funds are awarded in the last week of April.
