Summer Series Wrap Up 2019

The 2019 Summer Series provided professional growth and networking opportunities for the 70+ rising chapter officers who intern in D.C. during the summer. The series included opportunities to meet with several distinguished Hamilton alumni, a staff ride to the Gettysburg battlefield led by Dr. Thomas Keaney, a book talk with professor Angela Stent, and a Headshot Happy Hour among other events.

AHS alumni from the Defense Department, State Department, Treasury Department, and the White House hosted students for tours of their offices and for briefings with several high level officials including Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Counternarcotics and Global Threats Thomas Alexander, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Force Development Daniel Green, and General Counsel of the Treasury Brent McIntosh. They also heard about careers in the executive branch from special assistants in the Office of the Secretary of State, Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy, Office of the Secretary of the Navy as well as opportunities within the Presidential Management Fellowship Program and on the Council of Economic Advisors at the White House.
