We are seeking a full-time Director of Professional Programs to manage our national alumni network and other professional programs in Washington, DC. He/she will report to and work closely with the Executive Director and manage staff. The Director of Professional Programs will:
Manage AHS’s Alumni Network
Develop a strategic plan to build affinity and increase engagement among alumni;
Oversee all alumni event planning, from small intimate dinners to large retreats;
Launch and manage alumni communications;
Map institutional network landscape and assist alumni with career advancement;
Manage the Security and Strategy Seminar (SSS)
Assist in designing content and curriculum;
Manage recruitment and application process;
Oversee all relevant logistics;
Manage New York and Washington, DC chapters
Curate regular programming for growing community of members and supporters;
Build and manage relationships with critical external stakeholders;
Manage logistics for professional and young professional events in various cities.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a non-professional field (master’s degree preferred);
At least 5 years of full-time employment in a demanding professional environment;
A strong understanding of and commitment to AHS’s mission and principles;
Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work well with key network interlocutors;
A growing comfort with public speaking and ability to host and moderate events;
Phenomenal organizational skills, attention to logistical details, and the ability to manage a substantial number of projects and contacts at once;
Ability to attend frequent evening events.
