Job Description
The Alexander Hamilton Society (AHS) is seeking a full-time Academic Programs and Editorial Assistant to support its student chapters and national programming. This role involves planning events, mentoring student leaders, managing program data, and providing editorial assistance for AHS publications. Ideal candidates are organized, strong communicators with a passion for U.S. foreign policy and national security.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and execution of national student programs, including the Summer Series, Student Leadership Conference, Hamilton National Fellowship, and National Defense Fellowship;
Assist with planning for campus programs, including events with distinguished practitioners, student-led discussions, and reading series;
Process and track form submissions for chapter-related programs;
Process and track academic programs quantitative and qualitative data and reimbursements;
Build close relationships with and serve as a mentor for campus chapter leadership and members;
Draft general chapter communications, including announcements and discussion topics on key challenges facing U.S. foreign policy for the weekly newsletter, the Hamilton Dispatch;
Provide editorial support for AHS’s student journal, the Hamiltonian;
Assist with other AHS programs and projects as assigned.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and a demonstrated interest in U.S. foreign policy/national security;
A strong understanding of and commitment to AHS’s mission and principles;
Outstanding communication, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
Knowledgeable about critical issues in U.S. foreign policy and national security;
Entrepreneurial and positive attitude and thinking;
Ability to problem solve and manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines;
A comfort level with CRM systems (Hubspot or Salesforce) and web development is a plus.

Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
